Lidia Baich (born November 29, 1981 in Leningrad ) is an Austrian violinist .


Biography

The Austrian, born in St. Petersburg (then Leningrad), comes from a family of Russian musicians on her mother's side, her Austrian father is a cellist . At the age of four, she received violin lessons from her grandfather on a sixteenth violin built especially for her. Afterwards she studied with Boris Kuschnir in Vienna. At the age of eight, she won her first international competition, followed by numerous other first prizes. At the age of sixteen, her exceptional musical achievement finally won her the Eurovision Young Musicians' 1998 award and the "European Musician of the Year" award, which was personally presented by Lord Yehudi Menuhin .

Concert career

Lidia Baich performs as a soloist with orchestra, as well as with recitals in the most important concert halls.
