ピアニスト： Ignacio Marin Bocanegra
BIOGRAPHY Ignacio Marin Bocanegra was born in Madrid and studied piano and composition with Javier Alfonso, Teresa Gutierrez, Joaquin Soriano, Carmelo Bernaola and Anton Garcia Abril.
He received a scholarship from the Joint Spanish-American Committee and continued his studies at the Juilliard School of Music in New York for three years under the direction of Joseff Raieff, obtaining a Master of Music Degree. This same year he performed an all Liszt recital at Alice Tully Hall in the prestigious Lincoln Center of New York. At the age of 26, Ignacio won a post as professor of piano at the Music Conservatory of Aragon, Spain.
Ignacio has won prizes at several different national and international contests: First Prize at the City of Malaga Piano Competition, Gold Medal at Maria Canals in Barcelona, finalist and Special Prize of the Jury in Oporto and Jaen, Vianna da Motta, Senigaglia, among others. He also has given recitals in United States, Israel, Argentina, Guatemala, Paraguay, Uruguay, Brazil and Philippines. He has performed several times in Portugal, where he recorded a TV program, as well as in Italy. In Spain, he has recorded on several occasions with the RTVE and RNE orchestras and has given recitals in cities all around the country. He played as a soloist with the Spanish National Chamber Orchestra, Symphonic Orchestra of Valencia, Symphonic Orchestra of Sofia, Symphonic Orchestra of Baleares and the Moscow Virtuosi.
In 1993 Ignacio moved to Rome where he resided for one year as a member of the Spanish Academy of History, Archaeology and Arts. There he had the opportunity to play on several occasions with the String Quartet of Rome.
In 2000 Ignacio Marin Bocanegra transcribed all of the dances of Manuel de Falla’s “Sombrero de Tres Picos” for two pianos and it has been a great success.
Besides the well-known works by famous composers, Ignacio intends to include in his recitals other less-performed works that often do not receive the attention they deserve, such as: the original version of the second Sonata of Rachmaninov, Masks by Szymanowski, Barber Sonata, etc.
