Eva Zaicik (on July 17, 1987 in Ivry-sur-Seine) is a French mezzo-soprano known for her interpretation of the Baroque repertoire and her musical eclecticism.

" Named "Lyric Artist Revelation" at the 2018 Classical Music Awards, winner (1st female prize) of the 2018 Queen Elizabeth International Music Competition, the NEW Voices andAdamI Revelation Competition in 2016, Eva Zaicik is part of the 2017-2018 promotion of the Jardin des Voix with The Flourishing Arts under the direction of William Christie1.
Since 2018, she has been recording exclusively for the Alpha Classics label.

Biography

Eva Zaicik grew up in Maisons-Alfort in a family of doctors and intellectuals. His parents, music lovers, introduced him to a vast musical repertoire (jazz, rock, classical, world music). As a child, she sang in a choir. Encouraged by the choirmaster as well as her music teacher, Eva Zaicik participates in several projects of musicals and concerts of children's songs, which lead her to appear in two albums when she is only ten years old2. As a teenager, she sang for several years in a rock band, before discovering the lyric repertoire and taking an interest in it.

After a bachelor's degree in science and a brief stint in medical school, she began her singing studies at the Mastery of Notre Dame in Paris, where she co-directed the Lunaris Ensemble, composed of three female voices and a viola on a gambe. She obtained a master's degree in singing mention very well at the National Conservatory of Music and Dance in Paris, which she joined in 2011 in the class ofElene Golgevit and perfected in IAD until 2019.

An internationally recognized mezzo-soprano in the Baroque repertoire, Eva Zaicik regularly collaborates with such great conductors as: Emmanuelle Haim, Raphael Pichon, Christophe Rousset, Rene Jacobs, Leonardo Garcia Alarcon, Herve Niquet, Rene Jacobs, Vincent Dumestre ...

Eva Zaicik is also a member of both opera and concert in the Romantic repertoire. She sang Mahler's Kindertotenlieder with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Berlioz's Summer Nights under the direction of Michael Schonwandt. For example, she plays Polina in Tchaikovsky's Lady of Spades in a staging byOlivier Py, Selysette in Ariane and Bluebeard by Dukas at the Capitol in Toulouse and Carmen in Bizet's Tragedy of Carmen.

Eva Zaicik is also interested in contemporary creation and creates several operas (such as those of composers Betsy Jolas or Claire-Melanie Sinnhuber, for example), a piece by Thierry Pecou and melody cycles by Vincent Bouchot.

In 2018, she released her first solo album, Venez Dear Shadow, with her accomplices the Consort and has since recorded exclusively for the Alpha Classics label. In January 2021, still in the company of the 'Consort' expanded to other musicians, she published "Royal Handel", a disc dedicated to the first Royal Academy of Music in London.
