Sento in seno ch’in pioggia di lagrime
si dilegua l'amante mio cor.
Ma, mio core tralascia di piangere,
ch'il tuo pianto non scema il dolor.
I feel as if tears were raining down,
dissolving my loving heart.
But, my heart, cease weeping;
for tears will not lessen the grief.
