Pavol Breslik (9 March 1979 in Kysucke Nove Mesto) is a Slovak operatic tenor.
Life
Pavol Breslik studied at the Academy of Arts in Banska Bystrica. Vocal studies took him to the Opera Studio Cnipal in Marseille. He attended master classes with Peter Dvorsky , Mady Mesple, Yvonne Mintonand William Matteuzzi. in 2002, he debuted as Nemorino in L 'L'Elisir d' amore Opera Klosterneuburg .
2003-2006 Pavol Breslik was a member of the ensemble at the Berlin Staatsoper under den Linden. There he sang such as Ferrando (Cosi fan tutte), Tamino (Die Zauberflote), Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni), tax man (der fliegende Hollander), Kudryas (Katja Kabanowa ) and the God jester (Boris Godunov.) In addition he performed at all major national and international opera stages, including in London, Munich, Vienna, Paris, Zurich, Barcelona, Brussels, Salzburg and Bratislava. On June 14, 2008, he sang on the occasion of the reopening of the Cuvillies Theatre in Munich the Idamante in Opera Idomeneo.
Since the beginning of the season 2012/13 Pavol Breslik is member of the ensemble at the Zurich Opera House, where he was Steva Buryja (Jen?fa), Don Ottavio, Faust (Gounod's fist), (Roberto Devereux), Roberto Devereux Peter Quint (the turn of the screw), Alfredo (La traviata), Belmonte (Die Entfuhrung aus dem Serail), Macduff (Macbeth), Nemorino, and nadir (Les Pecheurs de) Perles) was heard. Early 2016, he made his house debut at Opera Australia in Sydney as nadir.

Pavol Breslik is a sought-after Lieder and concert singer. Highlights of his concert activities were his appearances at the BBC Proms with the London Philharmonic Orchestra in London, Paris and Lille, as well as with the Concert d' Astree and Emmanuelle Haim at the Edinburgh Festival and on the occasion of the reopening of Dresden Church of our Lady, as well as his singing performances of Opera and operetta at the AIDS Gala on November 11, 2007 in Berlin. On the concert platform, he sang also at the Salzburg Festival, the Osterfestpielen of Baden-Baden, at the Bavarian Radio Orchestra and the Boston Symphony Orchestra. 2014, he gave a recital at the Schubertiade Schwarzenberg. Together with Anna Netrebko, Juan Diego Florez and the Staatskapelle Dresden under Christian Thielemann , Pavol Breslik sang the count bonuses in the concert performance of die Csardasfurstin in the framework of the New year's Eve concert 2014 in the Semper Opera House in Dresden.
The singer has worked with many famous conductors. Among others with Lawrence Foster, Kurt Masur, Daniel Barenboim, Sir Colin Davis, Rafael Fruhbeck de Burgos, Kirill Petrenko, Christian Thielemann , and Riccardo Muti. in 2009, he sang the Gennaro in Lucrezia Borgiaat the Bavarian State Opera opposite Edita Gruberova . Shortly after he made his debut at the Metropolitan Opera in New York as Don Ottavio, and on the occasion of the last appearance, he debuted in the Gasteig (on 11 December), as well as in the Vienna Musikverein Gruberova as Violetta on December 21, 2010 in the role of Alfredo.

in 2000 he won the 1st prize at the Antonin Dvorak competition in the Czech Republic
in 2005, the artist was elected "Young singer of the year" by the magazine Opernwelt.
