The Faure Quartett is by the French composer Gabriel Faure (1845-1924) called Piano Quartet .

It was founded in 1995 and plays until today unchanged.
The Quartet members are Erika Geldsetzer ( violin ), Sascha Frombling ( Viola ), Konstantin Heidrich ( cello ) and Dirk Mommertz ( piano ).

Since 2005, it is exclusively from the Deutsche Grammophon / Universal manufactures. Up to now piano quartets by WA Mozart, J. Brahms and F. Mendelssohn-Bartholdy have been published. Previously, under the label Ars Musici, quartets were published by R. Schumann, Th. F. Kirchner, A. Dvorak, G. Faure and J. Suk. In the genre of the piano quartet the Faure Quartet is given a pioneering role. 2004 called the University of Music Karlsruhe , the Faure Quartett to their "Ensemble in Residence".
