Karel Kosarek (* June 22, 1967 Zlin ) is a Czech pianist .
Studies
Karel Kosarek studied at the conservatories in Kromeriz and Prague with professor Valentina Kamenikova and at the AMU in Prague with professors Frantisek Rauch and Kvetoslava Bilinska . He later studied at Southern Methodist University in Dallas , United States, with Harris Crohn and Joaquin Achucarro , where he received an Artist Certificate and a Master in Music.
Achievements
He is the winner of several piano competitions, such as the International Young Artist Competition in Corpus Christi, USA ( 1992 ), the International Piano Competition in San Antonio, USA ( 1993 ), the International Smetov Piano Competition, the laureate of many other prizes at the International FP Neglia Competition in Italy and also a finalist in the Walter Naumburg Competition in the USA .
A universal performer with an extraordinary range of concert activities - as a soloist he performs with leading orchestras, but he is also a popular chamber player who collaborates with leading Czech singers - for example with Magdalena Kozena and Roman Janal .
