Alexandra Sergeyevna Dovgan (born 1 July 2007) is a Russian pianist.


Life

Alexandra Dowgan was born into a family of musicians. At the age of four she received her first piano lessons, and at the age of five she was taught by Mira Marchenko at the Central Music School of the Moscow Conservatory. She has received scholarships from the Mstislav Rostropovich Foundation and the Vladimir Spivakov Foundation, among others, and is a laureate of numerous international competitions.

Dowgan has performed in numerous major concert halls in Europe. Together with Denis Mazuyev and Valery Gergiev, she opened the Mariinsky International Piano Festival in St. Petersburg in 2018. In 2019 she participated in the opening of the "Russian Seasons Germany" at the Berlin Philharmonie. She has also performed at the Prinzregententheater in Munich, the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, the Theatre des Champs-Elysees in Paris, the Konzerthaus in Vienna, the Pierre Boulez Hall in Berlin, and the Tonhalle in Zurich. She has also made guest appearances at festivals such as the Salzburg Festival, the Ruhr Piano Festival, the Rheingau Music Festival and the Colmar International Music Festival.

She has worked with orchestras such as the Orchestra della Svizzera italiana, the Slovenian Philharmonic, the Kungliga Filharmoniska Orkestern, Orquestra Simfonica de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya, the Basel Chamber Orchestra under the baton of conductors such as Ton Koopman, Kazushi ?no, Philipp von Steinaecker, Umberto Benedetti Michelangeli and Francois Leleux.
