The Mannheim Philharmonic is a professional symphony orchestra . Founder and Artistic Director is Boian Videnoff .


The orchestra was founded in 2009 as a non-profit orchestra project and is intended to provide its graduates with their first professional experience as a career entry. They do not have a firm, own house, but so far occurred in Mannheim always in the Mannheim rose garden .

The orchestra

In 2009 Boian Videnoff founded the Mannheim Philharmonic to offer young musicians an orchestra between studies and professional orchestras.

Eight in the first year, they now run four subscription concerts a year. At the end of 2011, the Mannheim Philharmonic went on tour in China. 2012 gave the pianist Dimitris Sgouros his comeback in Germany together with the Mannheim Philharmonic. They have been under contract with the artist agency Columbia Artists Management since 2012.
In 2013 they were guests at the International Music Festival Eurasia and joined it on a tour of Russia.

Junior philharmonic

The junior philharmonic orchestra is an educational project of the Mannheim Philharmonic. It is an orchestra for children between 5 and 12 years old. Twice a year the project takes place, in which children can gain their first orchestral experience. On the other hand, the Mannheim Philharmonic offers educational concerts specially prepared for school classes.

Miscellaneous

The Mannheim Philharmonic draw attention to itself again and again through extraordinary actions. On Valentine's Day 2011, they played the overture from Mozart's Figaro wedding on the Mannheim planks . In October 2012, they organized a musical flash mob at Mannheim Main Station . Its members are largely under 30 years old. Each applicant will be invited to a rehearsal, which is a very rare practice.
