Christoph Hartmann (born February 2, 1965 in Landsberg am Lech ) is a German oboist .


life

Hartmann began playing the oboe at the age of 13 and a year later studied as a visiting student with Georg Fischer at the Leopold Mozart Conservatory in Augsburg . After graduating from high school in 1984, he continued his education at the Hochschule fur Musik und Theater in Munich with Gunther Passin, graduating with a master class diploma in oboe and chamber music , where he subsequently received a teaching position . In 1991 he became principal oboist with the Stuttgart Philharmonic and in 1992 oboist with the Berlin Philharmonic . He has also been a teacher at the Orchestra Academy of the Berlin Philharmonic since 1993employed. In 1999 he founded the chamber music festival Landsberger Sommermusiken with orchestra colleagues , from which the Ensemble Berlin emerged.

Hartmann won prizes at international competitions in Toulon , Geneva and Tokyo and, with his CD recordings, made a major contribution to the rediscovery of the compositions of the almost forgotten oboe virtuoso Antonio Pasculli (1842-1924), who was born in Palermo.

In addition to his work as an oboist, Hartmann runs his own bicycle shop together with Maik Kresse and has developed the bicycle brand Pasculli . The bike shop is located in Berlin-Friedenau in the former production hall of the Goerz-Werke .
