Jaroslav Brych ( 23 February 1964 , Chrudim ) is a Czech conductor , choirmaster , music teacher and horn player.


Music education

From 1978-84 he studied at the Conservatoire in Pardubice the forest horn at Otakar Tvrdy. From 1984-89 he studied conducting at the Music Faculty of the Prague Academy of Performing Arts in the classes of professors Radomil Eliska , Vaclav Neumann and Josef Veselka . He graduated with a concert with the Symphony Orchestra of the Capital City of Prague, FOK . He also repeatedly attended famous Helmut Rilling championships in Stuttgart.

Professional Career (Choirmaster and Conductor)

Charles University College of Art

Jaroslav Brych started his professional career at Charles University College of Art , where he worked first with Lubomir Matl , shortly also with Miriam Nemcova and Jiri Kratochvil , and from 1992 until his leaving the VUS UK in 1997, he was completely alone. Several CDs have also been recorded with the choir, such as the recording of "Love and Death".

Army Symphony Orchestra of the Czech Republic

Between 1990 and 1994, he was the conductor of the Army Artistic Group, Vita Nejedleho .

Prague Philharmonic Choir

Jaroslav Brych joined the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra (PFS), while working at VUS UK. At first he worked with a choirmaster and music director, Pavol Kuhn, who in 1996 (after Kuhn's departure) replaced the choirmaster. He continued the tradition of collaborating with many opera and music houses, music festivals and organizations around the world. He has recorded or participated in the recording of a number of musical works, including Rachmanin's Night Witness , compositions by Alfred Schnittke and Martinu Vysvu Vysociny . He remained in the capacity of the principal choir until he finished his PFS in 2005.

Foerstrovo Chamber Choir

Since 2009, Jaroslav Brych has been the choirmaster of the Foerstrova Chamber Choir (FKPS). He has also celebrated the success at the International Choir Competition in Rimini, Italy , in 2012, where FKPS won the 1st place in the category of multi-party choirs and the Rimini Grand Prix. In 2015, the choir released a CD titled "We have met together well" to mark the 40th anniversary of its foundation.

Currently he also works regularly with the Prague Philharmonic Choir , the Prague Chamber Choir and others.
