チェリスト: ヘンリック・ダム・トムセン Henrik Dam Thomsen

Henrik Dam Thomsen is a Danish cellist, born in 1973 and educated in Copenhagen, London and Bloomington (Indiana, USA), with prominent names such as Morten Zeuthen, Torleif Thedeen, William Pleeth and Janos Starker.

Since 1999 he has been employed as 1st solo cellist in the Danish National Symphony Orchestra and with this orchestra, toured worldwide with conductors such as Yuri Termikanov, Kurt Sanderling, Herbert Blomstedt, Rafael Frubeck de Burgos and Fabio Luisi.

Countless concerts in Europe, USA and Asia as soloist with orchestra and as chamber musician with e.g. Sartory Quartet, Copenhagen Cello Quartet and DR Pigekoret. In addition, many years of collaboration with pianist, Ulrich Strong, Hammond organist and composer Anders Koppel and his son, saxophonist, Benjamin Koppel.

Henrik Dam Thomsen participates on more than 100 CD recordings (6 in his own name). He has made his mark as an improvisational musician and has performed with a large number of Danish and international jazz stars and also contributes to a number of award-winning film score scores. Most notable is probably his appearance on several Robert-winning soundtracks to Lars von Trier'sfilms.
